McDonald's Fantasy Football Rules

Squad selection

You may enter one fantasy football squad, multiple squads will be deleted. Your squad must consist of:

    * 1 Goalkeeper
    * 4 Defenders
    * 4 Midfielders
    * 3 Forwards

The number of players you can select from a single team depends on the stage of the competition:

The number of players you can select from a single team depends on the stage of the competition:
Each player has been given a value which is fixed for the tournament. The value of each player can be found at :

http://en.fantasy.euro2008.uefa.com/M/playerlist.mc

Player values will not change during the tournament.
The total value of your group stage squad must not exceed 100 million Euros. For the knock-out stage the team budget will be increased 110 million Euros.

Scoring

During the tournament the fantasy football players will be allocated a point score after each game, based on their performances in the matches. Actions occurring in extra time count but penalty shoot-outs do not. Points are awarded as detailed in the table below:

The Points will be calculated using data provided to us on behalf of UEFA. Neither we nor UEFA will enter into any correspondence relating to the allocation of points to players. We accept no responsibility for the accuracy of this data.

Assists

An assist is awarded when the goal scorer receives the ball directly from a team mate and scores. If the assist pass takes a small deflection which doesn't change the direction of the pass, it will still be given. No assists are awarded for own goals or penalties. Live assists are provisional and will be reviewed within twenty four hours of the match.

Deadlines

Your team must be entered by the Matchday deadline to score points for that Matchday. Any substitutions, captain changes or transfers made after the deadline will become active at the next deadline. You may make one temporary change during a Matchday by using your wild card.

Substitutions

Use the My Team page to select eleven players to form your team for the next Matchday. Your formation (4-4-2, 3-4-3 or 4-3-3) will automatically change based on the players you have chosen.

Your substitute does not score points. However, if any of your outfield players does not play in the Matchday, one of them will automatically be replaced by your substitute, if your substitute played in the Matchday.

Automatic substitutions are made at the end of the Matchday, when all matches have been played.

Captains

You must nominate a member of your team to be captain. This player will score double the number of points they would usually have been awarded that Matchday.

If your captain does not play then the bonus will be lost. Another player will not take over the captaincy in their place.

Transfers

Use the Transfers page to change your squad for the next Matchday. The number of transfers which can be made are as follows:

The total value of your group stage squad must not exceed 100 million Euros. For the knock-out stage the team budget will be increased 110 million Euros.

Transfers will not deduct points from your total.

If you enter after the start of the first Matchday, you can make unlimited transfers before the next Matchday.

Wild card

If you need to bring in a new player in the current Matchday for tactical or injury reasons, use the wild card.

Once a Matchday is under way you can use a wild card on your latest points page to temporarily replace, for the current Matchday only, one player in your team with a new player.
Both players involved in your wild card must:

**Have not played (their team's games haven't started)
**Be the same position
**Keep your squad under the players per team limit

In addition, the value of the new player can't be more than the existing player.
If a player replaces your captain, the new player will be captain. If a player replaces your substitute, the new player will be a substitute.

Remember, the wild card is a temporary change and can only be used once per Matchday. The original player will still be in your team for the next Matchday. To make the change permanent for the next Matchday you need to make a transfer.

Leagues

Each player competes and is automatically entered in a number of leagues. These are:

**The overall league involving all registered players
**A league for fellow players from your country
**A league for players starting the same Matchday as you
**A league for supporters of your favourite team (optional)
**Private leagues with your friends and colleagues (optional)

You can be in up to 10 private leagues. Points are awarded after each game as explained in the scoring section.
In the event of a tie between teams in a league, the team who has made the least transfers will be positioned higher.
In addition, you will be automatically entered into a public league with 16 other players.
Players joining before Matchday 1 will be placed in a tournament league which follows the real UEFA Euro 2008? structure.

The 16 players will be broken into four groups of four and each Matchday play a match against another team in the group, with a match result based on game scores. The top two in each group will qualify for the quarter final, with knock-out matches progressing through to the league final. The eight non qualifiers will play a consolation knock-out stage.
Players entering after Matchday 1 will be entered in a standard league with 16 other game players.

Phases
Each league is run on a phase and overall basis. The phases are as follow:
